Monteray Ltd was formed in April 2000 as a joint venture between Carillion Services (51%), Haden Building Management (24.5%) and Reliance Facilities Management (24.5%) as part of a plan – Project Jaguar – to revolutionise the provision of facilities management services to BT. Monteray took full responsibility for the provision of services to BT properties in April 2001 as part of an initial 5-year contract worth approximately £500m, extended to 2009 from April 2006. In February 2008, Monteray and BT announced that a new six-year facilities management contract had been signed worth in excess of £500m to run from April 2009 until 2014 with the potential to extend for a further four years. Monteray provides services ranging from cleaning and security to building and grounds maintenance and beyond. The 7,000 (approximate) buildings include offices, computer centres, research centres, telephone engineering centres, motor transport workshops, telephone exchanges and the landmark BT Tower in London.
